Here's what's being talked about in pop culture:

• Nobel laureate Gabriel Garcia Marquez, author of such sweeping classics as "One Hundred Years of Solitude" and "Love in the Time of Cholera," has died at the age of 87. [CNN]

• Mara Wilson, once a cute child star and now a writer and sharp Twitter user, has shot down the idea of reprising her role in a "Mrs. Doubtfire" sequel. [Entertainment Weekly]

• A social-media campaign is urging L.A. film crews to boycott the production of the Gregg Allman biopic "Midnight Rider," after crew member Sarah Jones was killed in an on-set accident when the movie was filming in Georgia in February. [The Hollywood Reporter]
