A man walking his dog discovered the body of a man in Memory Grove early Sunday evening.

Salt Lake Police Lt. Eddie Cameron said the man saw the body on a ledge off the main path inside the park. He called police at about 5:15 p.m. when he noticed the body had not moved for some time.

Cameron said the death does not appear to be suspicious and may have been related to alcohol. The body appeared to have been in the area for several hours, he said.

The deceased man has a history of substance abuse. His address was listed as a local homeless shelter, according to Cameron.

The name of the deceased man, approximately 45 years old, has not been released pending notification of his next of kin.
