Cottonwood Heights police found a 12-year-old girl safe and sound Monday afternoon after she disappeared overnight.

Stevie Rae Shane had last been seen wearing a white T-shirt with multi-colored cupcakes printed on the fabric, blue jeans and silver high-top sneakers.

According to police, Shane went missing late Sunday night.

The girl has a history of running away from home, police said, but she usually returns within 10 hours. She had never been gone overnight before.
