Ogden police have identified a motorcyclist killed in a traffic accident as 49-year-old Joseph Yo Saysithideth of Salt Lake City.
Ogden police Lt. Scott Conley said that Saysithideth, who worked in Ogden, died just after 11 a.m. Monday when his westbound motorcycle collided with an eastbound car that was making a left turn in front of him on Highway 79.
Saysithideth laid his bike down in an attempt to avoid hitting the car, but was traveling an estimated 50-55 mph at the time and still struck the vehicle.
The motorcyclist died at the scene; the driver of the car was unhurt.
The accident investigation was ongoing.
