Salt Lake City police on Tuesday were looking for a suspect in a westside carjacking and armed robbery.

SLCPD Detective Veronica Montoya said the incident occurred about 10:20 p.m. Monday when a 64-year-old woman pulled into an apartment complex parking lot at 786 N. 900 West.

As she was getting out of her car, a 30-to-40-year-old white male, about 5-foot-6, medium build, with a bald head and black-rimmed glasses, approached her with a pistol in his hand.

He told her to put her purse on the seat, took the car keys from her hand and then drove off into the night.

Police were looking for the victim's 1996 model green Subaru Legacy.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call SLCPD at 801-799-3000.
