Unified Police on Monday identified the victim of a fatal weekend fall in Big Cottonwood Canyon as a West Valley City woman.

UPD Detective Ken Hansen said Ana Maria Roya, 40, was hiking in the Donut Falls area about 2:30 p.m. Saturday when she slipped and fell, landing on the rocks 100 feet below.

Hansen said she died at the scene.

The woman had been hiking with family members at the time, Hansen said.
