Letter: Lead-foot motorists drive death rate

Re: ("UHP starts blitz to curb deadly crashes," June 11): Fifty-two fatalities, up from 35 last year. Fifty percent not wearing seat belts. Did anyone consider that speed may be a factor? In my opinion "lead-foot" speeders are the ones who foul up all the established rules of the road established by the Traffic Safety Council. In spite of one of your writer's opinion: speed does kill.
