That bogus handlebar mustache might have thrown off tellers during a Centerville bank robbery for a second or two, but apparently it's hard to fake that walk.

Assistant Centerville Police Chief Paul Child said employees of Zions Bank at 440 W. Parrish Lane quickly realized that the person passing a note demanding cash was all woman, despite the black facial hair draped over her lip and flowing down both cheeks to her chin.

The woman, later seen by a witness carrying a black handgun, entered the bank and handed her note to a teller at 2:43 p.m. Tuesday. She left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

It was outside the bank, as she walked west through the parking lot, where a customer in the bank's drive-through lane saw the suspect carrying the firearm. Witnesses inside the bank did not report seeing a gun, however.

Child said the woman, who wore a white hooded sweatshirt with "Metal Mulisha" printed on the back, as well as a baseball cap, sunglasses and white gloves, was 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-6 and about 140 pounds.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Centerville police at 801-292-8441.
