Here's what's being talked about in pop culture:

• Sirius-XM has fired Anthony Cumia, half of the popular shock-jock team "Opie & Anthony," after a series of racist (and unprintable) tweets during an encounter with a black woman in Times Square. [Vulture]

• Paul McCartney is back performing, after a viral infection caused him to cancel or reschedule several concerts. [Entertainment Weekly]

• "Transformers: Age of Extinction" topped the box office on a slow Independence Day weekend. Newcomer "Tammy" was a somewhat disappointing second. [Box Office Mojo]
