The two players expected to carry the offensive load for BYU this fall — quarterback Taysom Hill and running back Jamaal Williams — have been named to more college football awards watch lists the past few days. Thursday, Williams, who will be a junior, was named to the Doak Walker Award Watch List. It's the second-straight year in which Williams has made the preseason list. Some 53 players made the list. Williams rushed for 1,233 yards and seven touchdowns on 217 carries last season. He needs 1,447 yards to become BYU's all-time rushing yardage leader. Semifinalists will be announced on Nov. 18. BYU's Luke Staley won the award in 2001. On Wednesday, Hill received his ninth preseason honor as he was named to the Davey O'Brien Award Watch List. Hill was one of 39 quarterbacks on the list. The junior from Pocatello, Idaho, passed for 2,938 yards and rushed for 1,344 yards last season. BYU QBs Jim McMahon, Steve Young and Ty Detmer (twice) are past winners of the O'Brien Award.
