Final season of 'Two and a Half Men' will include (fake) gay storyline

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - Ah, geez. "Two and a Half Men" is going to go fake-gay for its final season.

"Walden (Ashton Kutcher) is going to have a major health scare and it is going to give him a little bit of an existential crisis," CBS president Nina Tassler told journalists at the Television Critics Association press tour. "And he wants to find a way to add more meaning to his life.

"So he decides he wants to adopt a child."

But Walden discovers that, as a single guy, it's difficult to adopt.

"So once and for all, he decides he's going to propose to Alan, we're going to get married, and adopt a child as a gay couple," Tassler said.

That sounds pretty stupid. And perhaps even offensive to gays and lesbians fighting for marriage rights. Although Tassler said that's not the case.

"I think it's a very positive statement," she said. "I am going to adopt a child as a gay couple. And the reality is, he can do that. In a universe when at one point you couldn't do that and now you can do that, I think that's a much more positive statement that he's making."

There is good news about "Two and a Half Men." There are absolutely no plans to bring back former star Charlie Sheen at any point during the upcoming final season.

"We're not have those conversations right now," Tassler said.

Sheen's character is, after all, dead.
