He gave her a ride. He went to the bathroom. She stole his car. Now, Salt Lake City police want your help finding the alleged automobile absconder.

Police on Wednesday released a photo taken from security camera footage showing the female suspect entering the 7-Eleven at 1285 N. Redwood Road about 5:30 a.m. Sunday. While the driver went to a restroom, the woman allegedly drove off with his black 2000 Nissan Xterra, Utah license plate D236KD.

Neither the car nor the suspect — described as 30-40 years old and of heavy build — have been seen since.

SLCPD asks anyone who recognizes the woman or has other information on the case call 801-799-3000. Also, anonymous tips may be sent by texting the keyword TIPSLCPD plus any relevant information to 274637.
