The Salt Lake City police department, in conjunction with local Subway restaurants, on Tuesday launched the "Playin' Safe Campaign," with a bike rodeo at Liberty Park.

The campaign encourages youth to play safely this summer.

Police officers in Salt Lake City and throughout Utah will be issuing safety citations — a pre-loaded Subway loyalty card good for a free 6-inch sub sandwich — to children riding bikes while wearing helmets, or rollerblading with safety equipment.
