Here's what's being talked about in pop culture:

• "Girls" star Allison Williams has been cast in the title role of NBC's holiday musical "Peter Pan Live!" She'll be flying opposite Christopher Walken's Captain Hook. [Entertainment Weekly]

• Quentin Tarantino has released a poster of his next movie, the Western "The Hateful Eight." [Vulture]

• Paramount has apologized for a poster announcing the Australian release of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," because of the juxtaposition of the movie's release date, Sept. 11, with a picture of the Turtles jumping out of an exploding building. [Variety]
