When Sharknado (8 p.m., Syfy) premiered a year ago, it was a surprise success. The incredibly stupid movie about sharks being lifted in a water spout and wreaking havoc on Los Angeles became a pop-culture sensation.

And that's why we now haveSharknado 2: The Second One (10 p.m. Syfy). It's pretty much the same movie set in New York. It's super dumb, gross, ridiculous — and fun.

By the way, when you get to what seems to be the incredibly stupid ending, keep watching. Something even dumber is about to happen.

Over on So You Think You Can Dance (7 p.m., Fox/Ch. 13), there's still one Utahn in the running. Tanisha Belnap will perform with the other 13 remaining contestants before at least a couple of them are eliminated.

However, a week ago there were three Utahns on the show. That was before Marcquet Hill and Brooklyn Fullmer were eliminated.

Elsewhere on TV ...

Big Brother (7 p.m., CBS/Ch. 2): The Power of Veto competition is held.

America's Got Talent (7 p.m., NBC/Ch. 5): The top 48 contestants are revealed.

My Wild Affair (7 p.m., PBS/Ch. 7): An orphaned rhinoceros is cared for by a vet and his family.

Penn & Teller: Fool Us (7 p.m., CW/Ch. 30): Aspiring magicians try to fool the veteran duo with a single trick and win a spot in Penn & Teller's Las Vegas show.

America's Got Talent (8 p.m., NBC/Ch. 5): Five acts advance; three are eliminated.

Extant (9 p.m., CBS/Ch. 2): Molly and her family flee to a remote island with her estranged father. (And CBS has pushed this show back an hour because of weak ratings.)

Motive (9 p.m., ABC/Ch. 4): A man is trampled by his own horse, but was it murder?

Taxi Brooklyn (9 p.m., NBC/Ch. 5): The wife of a notorious stalker is murdered.

Who Do You Think You Are? (10 p.m., TLC): Cynthia Nixon explores her family history.

Suits (10 p.m., USA): Mike is still reeling from the aftermath of the battle for Gillis Industries.

The Bridge (11 p.m., FX): Marco acquires a new ally.

Duck Dynasty (11 p.m., A&E): A survival race pits Jase and Willie against Alan and Jep.

Hot In Cleveland (11 p.m., TV Land): It's the long-anticipated animated episode.

Graceland (11 p.m., USA): Mike faces his enemy and vows to take him down at all costs.

Jennifer Falls (11 p.m., TV Land): Jennifer is surprised by the return of Gretchen's absentee father.
