An Eagle Mountain man is suspected of setting fire to his own house.

The fire broke out just after 11 p.m. Friday, Utah County sheriff's deputies reported. The man who lived there was not at the scene when firefighters arrived; witnesses said he set the fire.

The man, 34, was arrested in South Jordan the next day.

He was booked into the Utah County jail on suspicion of aggravated arson. Investigators estimate the damage to be about $100,000.
