The Hurricane police have finished their investigation into the death of an 11-month-old girl left in a car.

Skyah Suwyn died Aug. 1 after a family member left her in a car near 50 E. 500 North, according to the police.

After conducting several interviews and waiting on autopsy results, the police forwarded the case on Thursday to the Washington County Attorney's Office for review. Sgt. Brandon Buell deferred any comment on the investigation's findings to the attorney's office.

Washington County Attorney Brock Belnap confirmed Friday morning that they received the information, but said they are still in the processing of reviewing evidence and haven't made any decisions about whether to file any criminal charges. He declined to speak about specifics in the case.

Police said earlier this month that Skyah was inside the vehicle for "a substantial period of time," and the outside temperature would have been around 93 degrees.

She was not breathing and was unresponsive, but first responders began CPR. After the paramedics arrived, she was taken in a medical helicopter to Dixie Regional Medical Center, where she died, according to police.

A GoFundMe online fundraiser collected more than $17,000 for the girl's family.
