Miller Motorsports Park will sponsor Powell in the 250cc Class this weekend.
"We are very happy to support Landen Powell as he climbs the ranks," said John Larson, the general manager at MMP. "He is a great representative for us. We look forward to cheering him on."
The second annual Zions Bank Utah National is the season finale for this year's Lucas Oil Pro Motocoss series.
The top motocross riders in the world will join Powell and compete in the nationally televised-event, including KTM teammates Ryan Dungey and Ken Roczen. They are locked in a battle for the 450cc Class championship, with Roczen owning a 20-point lead over the Dungey.
Last week, Roczen flourished amid the wind, rain and mud at the inaugural Indiana National. He increase his lead over Dungey in the season standings and forced his teammate into a position of dominating in Utah or falling short in the race for the championship.
Dungey desperately needs to win both motos at Miller Motorsports Park and hope Roczen struggles, although the chances of that happening seem unlikely. In 22 motos this season, Roczen has never finished worse than fourth and that's happened just twice.
Clearly, Dungey must race well and hope Roczen does not if he wants to claim the 450 title.
In the 250cc Class, Yamaha's Jeremy Martin clinched the championship at Indiana. The race to watch will be the one for second place, where Blake Baggett (Kawasaki), Cooper Webb (Yamaha) and Marvin Musquin (KTM) are bunched within seven points of each other.
Utah National practice sessions start at 8:30 a.m. on Friday. Consolation races will be held at 11:35 a.m. The opening ceremonies begin at 12:25 p.m. with the championship motos starting at 1:05 p.m.
General admission tickets cost $40 for adults and $20 for children under 12. Kids 5 and under will be admitted free of charge. Pit passes, which provide access to the team areas between 9 a.m. and noon, are $20. Parking costs $10.
