If you're over 50 and looking for a job, Salt Lake City is a good place to be.

That's the finding of a survey by Grandparents.com, the website of the American Grandparents Association, which listed Salt Lake City among 10 cities with good prospects for older job seekers.

"Talk about a boom," said the study's writers. "Due in large part to its central location (and little around it for miles), SLC's job market is expanding across the board, from artists to airline ticketing agents."

The study said job seekers over 45 do particularly well — even though they're outnumbered by younger workers — because unemployment rates generally are lower.

Other cities on the list were: Morgantown, W.Va.; Sioux Falls, S.D.; Seattle; Gainesville, Fla.; Ithaca, N.Y.; Washington, D.C.; Ocean City, N.J.; Rochester, Minn.; and northwest Texas (if you can work construction in the oil industry).
