A motorcyclist was in critical condition Wednesday after a crash in South Salt Lake.

The 35-year-old motorcyclist was traveling south on State Street about 4 p.m. when the motorcycle collided with the rear driver's side door of a passenger car at 3400 South, said South Salt Lake police spokesman Gary Keller. The motorcyclist is not believed to have been wearing a helmet and suffered critical injuries, Keller said.

The crash forced the closure of two of the three southbound lanes of State Street, Keller said.
