A helicopter pilot suffered non-life-threatening injuries when he crashed Thursday morning while doing survey work in northern San Juan County suffered non-life-threatening injuries, the San Juan County Sheriff's office said Thursday.

The helicopter, owned by Minute Man Aviation, crashed at about 11:30 a.m. near the Anticline Overlook area in Lockheart Basin

The pilot was the sole occupant and the helicopter did not come apart or catch fire, the sheriff's office reported.

Another helicopter was in the area and was able to transport the pilot to Allen Memorial Hospital in Moab.

It was not immediately known what caused the accident. The helicopters were in the area doing survey work that was contracted for by Greenriver Energy.
