Faulty attic wiring is being blamed for an early Friday fire at a southeast Salt Lake City home.

Salt Lake City Fire Department spokesman Jasen Asay said crews quickly located, contained and extinguished the smoldering blaze at 611 E. Bryan Ave. (1600 South). Asay said the fire, fired reported at 6:11 a.m., was declared out at 6:51 a.m.

No injuries were reported.

Damages were estimated at $10,000.
