An Ogden man was seriously hurt when he was run down in a crosswalk by a pickup truck Tuesday morning, police said.

Ogden police Lt. Tim Scott said the 49-year-old man was crossing the intersection of 30th St. and Washington Blvd. about 6 a.m. Tuesday when a northbound white, 1995 Ford F-150 struck him while making a left turn onto 30th St.

The pedestrian was thrown to the asphalt and sustained "a significant head injury," Scott said. The man was rushed to McKay-Dee Hospital. He was reported to be in serious condition, but is expected to live.

The 28-year-old male driver of the pickup was not hurt.

No citations were immediately issued, as the incident was under investigation.

Scott indicated that investigators were taking into account that it was dark and raining at the time of the collision.
