No injuries were reported in a Friday morning collision between a school bus and a handicapped-transport van in Wellsville.

Cache County Sheriff's Lt. Mike Peterson said van, a 2013 Dodge Caravan owned by Utah State University, rear-ended the Cache County School District bus near 1200 S. Center St. at 8:50 a.m.

The bus was transporting 21 kindergarten students to Wellsville Elementary School at the time of the crash. None of the children were hurt.

The van had two "special needs" students as well as its driver on board, but no one was injured there, either.

Peterson said the bus sustained minor damage and was able to continue its route, though a few of the students were pickup at the accident scene by their parents.

The USU van had significant front end damage and was towed from the scene.

The van's 21-year-old driver was cited for following too close.
