The Utah Highway Patrol identified the 84-year-old victim in a Box Elder County crash this weekend as James P. Pickett.
Pickett, of Challis, Idaho, was driving south on Interstate 15 about 5:15 p.m. Friday near the town of Portage, when a Dodge pickup rear-ended Pickett's Ford pickup. The Ford was knocked down an embankment, through a fence, into a tree, a propane tank, the corner of a house and a parked car.
Pickett died at the scene.
UHP troopers were investigating the crash and expected to present a case to prosecutors for possible charges.
